Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
Consistent with the provisions of the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993, an eligible employee may be entitled to up to twelve (12) work weeks of leave during any twelve (12) month period.

Tenure and Promotion Deferment Policy
(See 803.07 TENURE AND CRITERIA FOR TENURE) Under BOR policy, the five-year probationary period may be suspended, subject to Presidential approval, based on birth or adoption of a child, or serious disability or prolonged illness of the employee or immediate family member.
GC Shared Leave Program
It is the policy of Georgia College that employees may voluntarily donate sick or annual leave to other employees who have exhausted all of their sick and annual leave and, because of a life threatening or medical emergency, are in need of additional sick leave.
