Georgia College announces the inauguration ceremony of its 11th president, Dr. Steve M. Dorman. Dr. Dorman became president in September 2012, following an extensive national search for a new executive.
The new president's strategic direction for the college was outlined in his January 11, 2013, State of the University Address at Russell Auditorium. Following a significant listening tour of the campus and many stakeholder groups, President Dorman announced a bold agenda for addressing challenges and opportunities as the university seeks to direct its future.
Dr. Dorman's speech focused on important elements of Georgia College's mission and administration: budget and resources, student success, diversity, campus traditions and the relationship of the university to its host community.
The Georgia College community is pleased to formally welcome its new president and to celebrate his inauguration.
