Accepted students should confirm their arrival plans with the International Education Center. We can arrange to meet you at the Atlanta airport if you arrive on the designated airport pick-up day.
Mandatory: Georgia College & State University requires all new international students attend the following orientation programs.
FALL Semester 2024
Atlanta Airport Pick-Up: Tuesday, August 13
International Student Orientation: Wednesday, August 14 - Friday, August 16
Advisement & Registration: Friday, August 16
Classes Begin: Monday, August 19
Early Arrival
If you arrive earlier than the airport pick-up day, you will need to arrange your own transportation to Milledgeville. You can take the Groome Shuttle from the Atlanta airport to Macon (cost approximately $50), and from Macon hire a taxi or Uber to Milledgeville (cost approximately $65). If you arrive a day or two earlier than the scheduled airport pick-up day, you may choose to stay in Atlanta and later meet International Center staff at the airport. You may want to stay at an airport hotel.
If you arrive to Milledgeville earlier than the date the residence halls/university apartments open, you will need to stay in a hotel. The university cannot accommodate you before that date. If you indicate that you are an international student coming to GCSU, you should be able to get a room for one person within the $90-$100 range for one night, including a continental breakfast in some cases.
