Pre-Arrival Checklist


Please follow the steps on this pre-arrival checklist:

  • Contact an EducationUSA Advising Center for guidance on the visa application, the U.S. educational system and other important preparations
  • Pay the Student Exchange and Visitor Information System SEVIS fee
  • Submit the DS-160 visa application and fees; make an appointment at the U.S. consulate
  • Log into the PAWS portal, check your email and other important announcements
  • Apply for University Housing or make other housing arrangements
  • Review degree requirements in the catalog; check course offerings
  • Contact an academic adviser for assistance with course registration (freshmen should follow POUNCE procedures)
  • Send completed immunization and emergency contact information forms to Georgia College; have any necessary medical checkups/treatment
  • Make travel arrangements and notify the International Center about arrival plans
  • Make necessary arrangements to pay for tuition, fees, housing
