Fines, Fees and Patron Blocks
The library encourages monitoring of your Library Accounts. Courtesy notices are sent via e-mail as a courtesy. Failure to receive a notice does not exempt one from fines.
Georgia College Materials
- Overdue fee is $.25 per item per day with a grace period of five days.
- On day six the fine is $1.50 and $.25 per day.
- $5.00 per day per item for Georgia College media.
Course Reserves

$.50 per item in the second hour and $.25 per hour

1-, 3- or 7-day reserves are $5.00 per day per item
GIL Express Books

No overdue fees are charged for GIL Express

Recall fees are allowed

Items overdue by 28 days become "Lost"

Lender determines fees for "Lost" GIL Express
Interlibrary Loan Material

No overdue fees are charged

"Lost" and damage fees are determined by lender
GIL Accounts are blocked for:
- One overdue GIL Express item
- Five overdue Georgia College items
- One "Lost" Georgia College item
- $10 in fines or fees
- Overdue ILL material of 5+ days and Recalled material of 2+ days
Lost & Damaged Items
Replacement charges are:
- Books - $35
- Juvenile books - $15
- Government Documents - $10
- VHS & DVD's - $75
- All charges in addition to $10 fine. Other materials are billed
at actual cost. - Damage is evaluated by staff and priced accordingly.
