Schedule Library Instruction
Instruction & Reference Services of the GC Library are available to classes, departments, offices, and individuals. The Reference and Instruction staff offers classes on the use and interpretation of library resources in various subject areas and formats. The goal of the department is to teach students to conduct effective research and think critically about the research process.
Classes may be scheduled: 1. by using the online form. 2. by contacting Jolene Cole, the Instruction Coordinator at jolene.cole@gcsu.edu or x0989 3. by contacting the subject liaison for the academic department.
Please Note: Please make every effort to request instruction at least two weeks prior to the date requested. However, we will take requests at any time, as long as we have enough time to adequately prepare. It is best to schedule the library instruction session for a time after students have been given their assignment and will actually need to use the library. The timing of library instruction is crucial to student motivation and learning. Classes or workshops dealing with library instruction are given first priority for use of the Instruction Room (241).
