- Provides short definitions of approximately 3,000 terms and concepts relevant to sport and exercise.
- Provides summaries of over 300 tests (scales, questionnaires, and inventories) dealing with sports and exercise. Each chapter covers tests for a specific area, such as motivation, confidence, and body image. The summary includes information about purpose, reliability, validity, and other information.
- Provides 1-2 page summaries of sports injuries and conditions. Each entry includes information on cause, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Includes several appendices containing information about safety and nutrition tips, professional organizations, schools, journals, and web sites. Also includes a bibliography of information sources.
- Short definitions of terms and concepts.
- Contains short articles about concepts in sports health. Many articles are illustrated. Also includes an index and list of references.

- SPORTDiscus with FullText Index to journal articles in the field of sports and athletic training.
- ERIC. "Educational Resources Information Center, database covers all aspects of education and educational research, includes both abstracts of published and unpublished sources on thousands of educational topics."
- CINAHL with Full Text. CINAHL is the database for Allied Health professionals. It indexes 800 nursing and allied health journals and is updated monthly.
- MEDLINE. MEDLINE indexes 3,900 journals covers all aspects of medicine. Try using a precision searches to narrow your topic.
- PsycINFO. PsycINFO is a good place to find articles on athletes and motivation, emotion, stress, eating disorders, and more.

- The National Library of Medicine is part of the National Institutes of Health. Search the Library's catalog, Pubmed, Medline and other databases.
