Baldwin County Court House
The Baldwin County Probate Office contains copies of wills, inventories and appraisement of estates, and other records. Use the indexes in the Office to locate appropriate record books. The records are indexed by persons. The records in this office were not destroyed in the Court House fire of 1861. Property records were destroyed, though some records were refiled by property owners who retained original deeds. The office of the Clerk of Superior Court retains property records.

Located at 151 South Jefferson Street at Greene Street across from the gates of Georgia Military College, the Mary Vinson Memorial Library contains a Spec. Coll. room open during regular library hours. This Collection focuses on Georgia and local history, including family histories and genealogical materials.
The library has indexes to the Macon Telegraph, 1921-1991, and to the Union-Recorder (Milledgeville-Baldwin County-related information), 1992 to present. The Spec. Coll. area houses electronic indexes to some census materials, marriage records, and other name-related records. Library hours are:
