Visiting the Flannery O'Connor Room

 The Flannery O'Connor Room is located in the GC Museum, which is located at the corner of Clark and Montgomery streets. The museum is open for visitors Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. There is no charge to visit the O'Connor Room or any of the exhibits in the GC Museum. Donations are accepted.


Tours of the O'Connor Room are self guided. Guided tours and other educational programs are available for groups on an appointment basis. Tours must be scheduled at least two weeks ahead of time and are subject to availability of a staff member to conduct them.

10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Andalusia, The home of Flannery O'Connor          

Andalusia is open for self-guided tours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. All other visits by appointment 478-454-4029.       

Noon-1:30 p.m. Lunch in Milledgeville's Historic Downtown

We invite you to patronize the downtown's varied restaurants and shops. The Historic District boasts ethnic eateries, pizzerias, a bakery, and two coffee houses. The downtown also contains antique shops, clothing and accessory boutiques, and many other unique and local retail stores.

2 p.m.-3 p.m. Tour of the O'Connor Room housed in the GC Museum located at 221 North Clarke St.

Visit the O'Connor Room for a self-guided tour. For groups of five or more, please contact Special Collections for a guided tour and presentation 478-445-0988.

3 p.m.-4 p.m. Memory Hill Cemetery

Visit the gravesite and family plot of Flannery O'Connor. Free, printable brochures of the cemetery are available from the website: Memory Hill Cemetery.
