Georgia College students in and out of the Department of Mass Communication have the opportunity to participate in television, radio, and newspaper media. 

The Colonnade
Founded in 1923, The Colonnade is Georgia College's award-winning student newspaper. Offering positions in reporting, editing, photography and advertising sales, The Colonnade is a training ground for the future journalists of America. Students who work on The Colonnade have gone on to professional careers in journalism, public relations, advertising and broadcasting. The Colonnade offers paid staff positions, and the editor is elected annually. The staff is active in the Georgia College Press Association and it annually attends the Associated Press conventions.

WGUR 88.9 FM
WGUR 88.9 FM offers professional radio opportunities for all Georgia College students. The station encourages students to develop broadcasting skills in a variety of station areas such as announcing, music, news and sportscasting, promotion, public relations, advertising, production and station management. The WGUR staff regularly participates in campus activities and events, frequently with live radio remote broadcasts.

GCTV News
At GCTV News, Georgia College's student-run television newscast, students cover a beat, produce, direct and learn all aspects of a real newscast. With faculty supervision, students learn how newscasts function by actually producing one. Students are allowed to take this course up to three times for credit.

Bobcat PRSSA received its charter on February 25, 2008.  In our first year, membership nearly doubled, and we currently have 49 members. PRSSA offers opportunities to:

• Network with 9,600 members in 284 universities across the country

• Travel around the United States to participate in conferences

• Utilize the PRSSA job, internship, and career center

• Compete for scholarships & awards

• Explore leadership opportunities
