Sara Nelson Scholarship
The Department of Mathematics is pleased to solicit applications for Sara L. Nelson scholarships for outstanding mathematics majors. Dr. Sara L. Nelson graduated from Georgia State College for Women (now Georgia College) in 1926 with a bachelors degree, majoring in mathematics with a minor in chemistry. After receiving her Ph.D. in mathematics from Cornell University, she joined the faculty of Georgia College and was a beloved teacher of mathematics until her retirement in 1968. As a result of a generous endowment from Dr. Nelson, the Department of Mathematics will award several scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year.
The department is not accepting applications at this time.
Check again in Fall 2011.
