Location
East Campus (Lake Laurel), home to the Outdoor Center at Georgia College, is located about 10 minutes east of the Georgia College Main Campus. Facilities include Lake Laurel Lodge, the Outdoor Center Cabin, the Water Shack, Challenge Course, and a YURT. East Campus is situated on 83 acres of mixed forest, including a 3 acre lake, stream, and wetlands. We are proud to offer a wide of opportunities for outdoor recreation, group development, technical training, and leadership development to meet the needs of our client needs and serve Georgia College faculty, staff, and students. The Challenge Course
The Challenge Course is located on a hill overlooking Lake Laurel, surrounded by mixed-forest and bordered by a small stream on the south side. The main activity area is bisected by an old logging road and smaller foot paths deliver participants to activity areas on the site. The facility is designed to accommodate a range of ages and abilities, and enable us to create programs that are unique to every group. The YURT serves as an indoor facility at the site and can be used for group development activities, reflection, or a cozy place to wait out the rain.

Lake Laurel Lodge
Lake Laurel Lodge was built in the 1940s for the use and enjoyment of Georgia College students, staff, and faculty. Its rustic charm is enhanced by its location overlooking Lake Laurel. This clubhouse-like lodge is home to outdoor education academic classes and Outdoor Center programs. Equipped with state of the art technology, a large central gathering room is a great place to begin and end a program. The lodge offers rustic accommodation for up to 16 people. Its large screened in porch joins a deck equipped with picnic tables and a grill. Those amenities, plus its kitchen provide a great opportunity for group meals.
