School and Groups

The planetarium sits 20. School groups greater than 20 can be broken up. To schedule a tour click here. Our combined Natural History Museum and Planetarium tours are popular (the Museum and Planetarium are all in one place!). For a list of shows and their description see the planetarium shows page. Budget a short hour for each show.

For high school students, we recommend any of the shows, except The Little Star that Could (that one is for a younger crowd). The Origins of Life is multidisciplinary (astronomy, earth sciences and some biology). For middle school students we recommend the Origins of Life and Two Small Pieces of Glass, though the other shows for "grown ups" are also good choices.

For elementary schools and younger, we recommend The Little Star that Could. For this show, lesson plans are available for K-2 grades(pdf) and 3-6 grades(pdf).
