Summaries from the Fourth Stakeholder Conference
At the March 2, 2007, stakeholder conference, breakout groups responded to questions on the proposed pillars of distinction (Building Residential Learning Communities and Learning Beyond the Classroom) posed by the facilitator, Dr. John Moore of Penson Associates. Tables developed a consensus and presented their ideas to the larger group. Responses to the questions have been distilled for ease of reading.

At the March 2, 2007, stakeholder conference, the Academic Programs of Distinction Work Group presented white papers for each program of distinction. The work group evaluated the programs based on the following criteria:
- Centrality to mission
- Potential for capitalizing on existing strengths
- Potential for gaining broad faculty support
- Potential for external recognition as exemplary
- Potential for sustainability
