Project Tiers

Faculty and staff are encouraged to contribute to the culture of engaged learning by participating in one or more of the project tiers. The ENGAGE project tiers support the development of structured and assessable Community-based Engaged Learning (C-bEL) experiences in academic and/or co-curricular settings.

01 Apprentice Cohort
The apprentice cohort is a series of workshops that will guide participants through the process of designing and implementing a community-based engaged learning experience. Participants will receive a stipend for their participation and will complete the course with an course or co-curricular experience that uses the ENGAGE learning outcomes and assessment toolbox to assess student learning.

02 Journeyman Mini-grant Program
The Journeyman mini-grant program provides small grants to support development of new or existing C-bEL experiences in academic or co-curricular settings.

03 Master Grant Program
The Master grant program provides funding to support large-scale implementation of assessable C-bEL experiences in academic or co-curricular settings over 2-3 years.  These grants will begin Spring 2015.

04 C-bEL Fellows Program
C-bEL Fellows are faculty, staff or community members that have shown distinction in community-based learning at Georgia College. These individuals form an important advisory structure for the C-bEL director and will receive stipends for supporting ENGAGE activities.
