Inclement Weather Plan for May 2013

 
In the event of severe inclement weather (rain, thunderstorms, extreme heat, etc.), Georgia College Commencement will be held indoors in the Centennial Center, located at 251 S. Clark Street (Campus Map) pdf.  You can check the GC News & Events page for the announcement. You should also listen to one of the radio stations listed below for an official announcement.  There will also be a message on the main information phone number 1-800-342-0471.  Please be courteous of potential needs for emergency service and do not call public safety.

All graduation candidates enter Centennial Center through the lower level (south) entrance, and all guests enter through the main entrance doors (near the tennis courts).

Graduate Ceremony
In the event the ceremony must be moved indoors, the Graduate ceremony processional will begin at 6:45 p.m. Candidates are requested to arrive at the Centennial Center no later than 6 p.m.  We ask that all guests be seated before processional begins.

Undergraduate Ceremony
In the event the ceremony must be moved indoors, the Undergraduate Ceremony will be split into two ceremonies.  The College of  Arts & Sciences ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. with the processional beginning promptly at 9:45 a.m.; students should arrive no later than 8:45 a.m.  The College of Education, the College of Business and the the College of Health Sciences will begin their ceremony at 2 p.m. with the processional beginning promptly at 1:45 p.m.; students should arrive no later than 12:45 p.m. 

Candidates for graduation are requested to arrive at the Centennial Center at least one hour prior to ceremony times.  Students will not be allowed to walk at a different ceremony other than the College from which they are graduating.

Tickets will be required for guests attending the undergraduate ceremonies.  Remote broadcast and overflow seating will not be available for the ceremonies. 

Student Marshals will organize students by college and degree in the lower level hallways,  faculty should assemble in the lower level hallway (poolside entrance).

We ask that all guests be seated before the processional begins.
