The ceremony is not complete until the faculty, honored guests and students recess. As a show of respect, guests are asked to remain standing at their seats until the recessional has ended.
There will be a reception beyond the pergola for students and guests immediately following the recessional.
Participating in the ceremony does not guarantee that all degree requirements have been satisfied. Students will receive a diploma cover at commencement. Diplomas are mailed to the permanent address as stated on the graduation application following verification by the Office of the Registrar that all degree requirements were satisfied by the last day of the semester in which the degree is to be awarded. This process normally takes 1-2 weeks following the end of the term.
Please refer all questions to the Office of the Registrar at 478-445-6288 or email@example.com.
Do you have a story to tell?
We are looking for story ideas about GC's Class of 2013. Are you part of a family affair of graduates, e.g., a mother/daughter combo or assorted siblings? Are you getting your dream job after graduation? Perhaps you overcame difficult odds getting to college and plan to make your life's work helping others who need a hand?
E-mail your story to University Communications at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know the best times and ways to reach you. We can't guarantee you 15 minutes of fame or that we'll be able to use every suggestion, but we'll do our best to follow up on as many as possible. Stories may be used on the News & Events page, in other university publications or passed along to the news media.
