Mission: Experience all disciplines in the arts by attending fine art openings, music and theatre events, and interacting with artists in their working environments.
A large part of living and working as an artist is being active in your community. Artists rely heavily on the public to support their efforts by attending our shows, paying admission to galleries or purchasing our work. In exchange, we offer our audience a new perspective or a glimpse into a foreign world as a break from their daily routine. This shared experience allows both parties to expand their knowledge and question their own ideas.
This symbiotic relationship is very similar to what the RLC offers. The Fine Arts RLC is a collaborative, supportive environment that nurtures creative expression. By electing to co-exist with other like-minded individuals you are inviting them into your life. When you surround yourself with other creative people, your ideas are nurtured and influenced by them, and they in-turn by yours.
Fine Arts RLC living will enhance your creative experience by allowing you to attend several arts oriented events with your advisor and peers. By living alongside people who value the arts and are actively engaged in the creative process, you will grow as an artist.
Remember, your participation in GCSU's RLC program is an excellent way to enhance and develop your skills so you may enrich the community in which you reside now and in the future.
