Environmental Awareness
Georgia College is going Green! SGA Environmental Awareness is responsible for communicating sustainability within the GC community, while giving students an opportunity to join and support the many environmental groups and organizations offered on campus. Environmental Awareness is also looking beyond GC's campus and would like to educate individual students about establishing a more sustainable lifestyle at home. Get involved!
The Georgia College Recycling Program and sustainability effort was established in 2009, by then President Dorothy Leland.
The mission of GC's program is to provide waste reduction opportunities and quality routine recycling services to campus clients and during special events on the university campus. The goal is to reduce the environmental impact of waste and effectively manage the lifecycle of current and future resources.
