Vice President-Elect Ross Sheppard
My experience in SGA as a senator, treasurer, and staff person coupled with my experience serving as a student ambassador and orientation leader have helped establish the relationships with members of the faculty and administration which are crucial to accomplishing our goals. My major is general business; my minors are rhetoric and political science—this is the embodiment of a liberal arts education. This, along with having been involved in many campus activities ranging from chorus to Greek life, give me the perspective to understand the plight of the Georgia College student who wants nothing more than to get the most out of their years in college.
Filling the shoes of our current SGA vice president, Evan Karanovich, will be made much easier by the fact that I will have him next door serving as president; this will make for as smooth a transition as could be hoped for.
You may refer to the president’s transition page to see the goals that our executive board hopes to accomplish this upcoming academic year. On my end, as vice president, I plan to explore ways to make the Senate more efficient; cutting costs and saving time for all involved. Having seen first hand the immense waste (in terms of operational costs) of our state government in Atlanta, I want to explore ways to make the student senate more efficient. Many of those who will one day fill the legislative chambers in Atlanta get their start in various student government organizations; we can establish good habits for the future now.
I also plan to continue to great job that current VP (and president-elect) Evan Karanovich has done helping the senators have access to the resources they need to get the most accomplished for their fellow students…that’s what this show is all about.
As always, feel free to contact me or any member of SGA to let us know how you feel and what you need. We’re here to serve the students and we can’t do that without your input.
Looking forward to a great year!
