Proposals for the development of the Campus Connection program:
- The program will be offered as an option to all new employees of GCSU of staff classification beginning with hire date January 1, 2009. Participation in the program is purely voluntary.
- The program will not replace job training or skills enhancement but will serve to establish a dependable, positive on-campus connection with a current experienced employee for assistance with navigating the many information systems and campus resources available to all employees.
- The program will be coordinated through a Standing Committee of Staff Council with primary duties for coordination of the program maintained by the chair of the Campus Connections committee.
- Initial "connection" points for the program will be comprised of current Staff Council representatives. All Staff Council delegates will participate in the program on a random on-call basis and will represent the university campus-wide. Due to the success of the program being dependent on all Staff Council Delegate participation, consistent non-participation will be addressed consistent with Staff Council policies and procedures.
- "Connection" assignments will not be based on job classification or department/unit.
- Program duration: first six weeks of new staff employment
Continuing charges for the Committee
- Confirm funding for brochures, web development, etc…(*program information to be included also in staff benefits brochure provided by Staff Council)
- Continue development of web-based report to generate information new hires to begin process for program assignment and communication.
- Develop promotional materials
- Develop participant applications
- Develop approval form for representatives' supervisors to approve participation by current staff member.
