Greek Standards Program
The Greek Standards Program serves to assist the Georgia College Greek community in general and each chapter in particular in functioning at the most effective and efficient levels possible. Designed to educate members of the Greek community, Greek Convocation is purposeful educational programs on a variety of subjects relevant to members of the Greek community. These programs occur throughout the academic year.
Rho Lambda is a honorary organization for Panhellenic sorority members. It is an organization that accepts members based on academic performance, leadership, and community service. Each semester members of the Greek community apply to be initiated into Rho Lambda. The active members of Rho Lambda then select the new initiates from the applications they received. Order of Omega
Order of Omega is a Greek honorary organization that believes in high scholarship, leadership skills, and community involvement. These attributes make an individual perfectly suited for initiation into Order of Omega. This honorary organization is a nationally recognized organization. Greek Week is one of largest student-run events! Members from each fraternity and sorority work together to organize multiple days of fun and excitement. Events include can food structure building, Olympic-style games, and a Greek award ceremonies. The most exciting days of Greek Week is the flag football competition and the Step Show. Proceeds from the week are donated to a designated community service organization.
Each semester the Greek Life office provides valuable information on the prevention of hazing. The workshop includes the following:
- Definition of hazing with the group
- Sorority/fraternity creed with respect to hazing activities
- Educational processes from potential new members corresponding with the ideals of the organization
- Making non-hazing ideals a reality
Potential new members will have the opportunity to engage in small working groups to discuss activities that will help bolster the standards of the Greek Life system.
