Parking
The GCSU Parking and Transportation Services, a unit of Auxiliary Services, implements the university's parking plan year round. A GCSU issued permit is required to park on university property at all times. There are more than 3,600 spaces available for student, faculty, and staff parking. These spaces are allocated throughout Central and West Campus in designated lots. Student fees include a parking permit valid for Commuter, Resident or Perimeter designated lots depending upon whether you reside off-campus or on-campus.
Parking regulations are strictly enforced. Enforcement times are normally 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Citations for infractions of GCSU Parking Regulations may be issued by GCSU Parking Enforcement Officers and GCSU Public Safety Officers. Additionally, the City of Milledgeville Police Department may also issue citations for infractions involving safety related areas. Fines, immobilization, and towing are authorized as disincentives to ensure that parking operations run as effectively as possible.
An appeal process is in place for those individuals who consider there is exigent circumstances and disagree with an issued citation. The individual may detail their case on line and submit it to the Parking Appeals Committee. The committee is comprised of members from the student body, faculty, and staff members. They review the individual appeals and render decisions on a monthly basis.
