The Center for Student Success has as its
foundation a strong commitment to your
success as a student. The First-Year
Experience programs seek to establish a solid
base of academic success skills. Focus is
directed to academic advisement at GCSU that
is a faculty-based system that assures you
contact with a faculty member who can guide
your course selection and assist in career
preparation. If you have not yet decided
upon a major, you'll be advised by
professional advisors in the Advising Center
in 232 Lanier Hall.
Through the University Advising Center, the Center for Student Success will provide supplemental academic advising to first-year students experiencing academic difficulty.
The Center for Student Success administers POUNCE (Pre-Orientation UNdergraduate Course Enrollment -- the early advisement and registration program for new Freshmen accepted for
fall semester),
and provides materials and instructor
assistance to support the First Year
Academic Seminars. Staff is available from 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
