Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) -
September 2014 Update: 

The VoIP phones may now be used to make outgoing calls including long distance and if authorized, international calls. Faculty and staff are encouraged to begin using the VoIP phone for outgoing calls. The new connectivity with AT&T is completed and tested. The outgoing call features are now enabled. 

Unfortunately, to enable incoming calls requires a transition of numbers from Windstream to AT&T. The initial plan called for the transition to begin last week. This plan was denied a few days before it was set to begin due to collaboration issues. Georgia College is awaiting final word from AT&T and Windstream on when the migration will occur. The migration issues have been escalated to state management, and we expect a response by next week. The migration will encompass moving approximately 900 numbers in one move, probably during business hours. There will be a second migration of approximately 40 late-added numbers 15-20 days following the major migration. Additional updates will be shared as details are confirmed.

Information and user manuals for new faculty and staff phones are available on the VoIP Intranet site. Access to the Intranet sites requires your Unify login.
