The mission of Systems Administration is to design, implement, secure and maintain the physical server infrastructure, the virtual server infrastructure, the storage infrastructure and the University Data Center Operations. System Administration also advises, instructs, supports and assists many campus areas in fulfilling their missions. The resources System Administration supports make it possible for the University to conduct business; recruit faculty, staff and students; and leverage existing and emerging technologies for the classroom and beyond.
The goals of Systems Administration are:
- Provide secure and highly available infrastructures to support all of the technology goals of Georgia College.
- Assist in achieving the University’s strategic goals by creating a stable yet dynamic foundation for new and developing technologies to flourish. Plan and prepare for disasters, failures, and unplanned outages with a comprehensive disaster recovery plan.
- Protect University Information with a tiered data backup, recovery and storage plan.
