MAT (Miller Analogies Test)

The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is used as a graduate school admissions test by a number of programs at GC. It is a high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. The test consists of 120 analogies that are to be completed in 60 minutes.

The MAT is generally administered two or three afternoons per week at 1 p.m. or at 3 p.m. You will register and pay the test fee of $78 online, with payment options of Visa or MasterCard. To register online, click here and follow the instructions.

All tests will be administered in Center for Testing computer lab (140 Lanier Hall). Allow about 1 and 1/2 hours for the test.

You must present two forms of valid, unexpired identification. The primary form of ID must contain both a photograph and signature.  Acceptable forms of primary ID include driver's license, government-issued identification card or passport. The second form of identification does not need to have a photo and may include a school ID, credit card, library card or other form of credible ID.

You may not take calculators (including watch calculators), books, papers, highlighters, rulers, notes, pagers, PDAs, cellular phones, recording devices or any other electronic devices or reference materials, food or beverages into the testing room. You may not wear or take a hat with a bill or a brim  into the testing room. We recommend that you not bring these items to your test session because storage space is very limited.

You can find valuable information on the MAT website, including the MAT Candidate Information Booklet and an online practice test for a small fee.

Information on graduate admission requirements can be found in the GC Graduate Catalog.

RESCHEDULE/REFUND POLICY: You may reschedule a test session without additional charge one time if you contact the testing office at 478-445-5016 at least one week before your original session. If you find that you will be unable to attend or if you miss your test session, you may request a partial refund of $39. We must receive your request in writing (letter or email) within 30 days. Please let us know as soon as you can if you do not plan to attend your test session so we can release your seat to another examinee.
