It is my privilege to join this wonderful campus as the new Chair of the Theatre Department and Artistic Director of Theatre Programs! I am returning to my home state of Georgia after many years in Washington, D.C. teaching at Georgetown University, directing plays there and in New York, and serving as President of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education. My goal is to continue the quality liberal arts program that Georgia College maintains by providing opportunities for critical and creative thinking and enhancing our commitment to social justice theatre, arts-in-education, and entertainment for the entire campus and the Milledgeville community!
We are so lucky to have Professors Amy Pinney and Iona Pendergast onboard with us full-time this year! They join Professors Beate Czogalla and Russ Staples. We are very proud to house the Dance Minor Program headed by Professor Amelia Pelton. In addition, we welcome our new costume Professor Eric Griffis, a graduate of University of Southern Mississippi who has served as a Costume Designer for Southern Arena Theatre. For those of you interested in furthering your musical talents, the Music Department and Interim Chair, Professor Todd Shiver, are pleased to offer vocal and instrumental music classes. Students will love all of our theatre, music, and dance courses!
