FAQ

How do I apply to be a Theatre Major at GCSU?
Step One: Visit the Admissions Office at GCSU and fill out your application for admission.
Step Two: Next, fill out our Theatre Student Audition/Scholarship.
Step Three: Then schedule an audition.

What do I have to do to audition?
If you are designer, bring us a portfolio of your work.  If you are an actor, plan to do a two minute monologue for us. If you are a singer, plan to sing a song for us a cappella. It's that simple!

Are there opportunities for freshmen to be onstage?
Absolutely! Many freshmen get lead and supporting roles in their first year.

Are there opportunities for a student to design or direct a show?
Yes. Many students begin by assistant designing and then go on to design mainstage shows. Students who have taken Directing I and II may want to consider directing for their Capstone project.

What is a Capstone?
Capstones are the final stage of your theatre career at GCSU. This work is your Senior Project and you will submit your interests to the faculty. Then you will have a chance to research, or act, or direct, or design and create a portfolio of your work.
