Welcome to the Georgia College Theatre Department where you will find a caring faculty interested in your development not only as an artist but as a person who can compete in the real world job market. Our community is large enough to offer students amazing opportunities, but small enough to provide an environment in which we can get to know you. Our students are encouraged to write plays, act, direct, design, research, produce and stage manage! My goal is to continue the quality liberal arts program that Georgia College provides by enhancing our commitment to social justice theatre, arts-in-education, internationalization and entertainment for the entire campus and the Milledgeville community! We inspire our students to become leaders, as well as critical and creative thinkers.

I am proud of our faculty who work in the professional world and bring back those experiences to our students. We are so lucky to have Professors Amy Pinney, Beate Czogalla, Eric Griffis, Iona Holder, Jimmy Holder and Frani Geiger onboard, along with Technical Director Russ Staples and Costume Shop Supervisor Jessica Van Essen. We are very excited to house the Dance Minor Program headed by Amelia Pelton with Instructor Julie Mulvihill. For those interested in furthering musical talents, the Music Department offers vocal and instrumental music classes. Join our Theatre family and make the most of your college years!

Dr. Karen Berman
Associate Professor
Chair and Artistic Director of Theatre Programs
