Emergencies, Phones and Parking
During all emergency situations it is expected that all members follow the direction of the WRC staff. In the event an emergency situation calls for sudden evacuation of the facility, please exit through the nearest emergency exit immediately. Please follow University emergency policies for all emergencies. WRC Emergency Policy may be viewed on page 10 of this manual or online (www.gcsu.edu/wellness).
WRC phones (Professional offices, Member Services Desk, Aquatics, Fitness Desk, and Rec Sports) are for WRC use only. Emergency situations are the only exception
West Campus is home to the Georgia College NCAA Women’s Soccer team, Baseball and Softball teams, the Village Apartments, Rec Sports outdoor activities, and the WRC; resulting in a lot of activity and people. “Perimeter” (P) parking lots are located on the west end of the WRC, near the soccer and softball fields and require a (P) permit. Non-GC WRC members will be issued a temporary parking permit upon membership registration. Permit must be returned to the WRC at time of membership cancellation.
Because the WRC is a LEED Silver certified building, one parking space located in the lot immediately behind the facility is reserved for energy efficient vehicles.
Employees may park in the E lot adjacent to the Peeler Building from 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Employee permit is required and may be purchased at the Parking and Transportation Office (located on Greene Street) or online through the GC P.A.W.S portal. Employee GCID and password required.
Reserved spaces are provided for Student Health Services and Counseling patients and will require a pass issued by the department to park in these spaces.
