Graduate Assistants

 

 Liz HathawayLiz Hathaway-Graduate Assistant

Liz graduated from the University of Georgia in 2008 with degrees in Economics and Sports Studies.  She went on to get her Masters of Public Health, with an emphasis in Communication Health, from Georgia Southern University in 2010.  She is currently pursuing a Masters of Education in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Human Performance.  She is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and is also certified through the Cancer Exercise Training Institute as a Cancer Exercise Specialist.  Prior to working as a Graduate Assistant at the Wellness and Recreation Center, Liz served as the Graduate Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach for Georgia College.


 

Benicia BellBenicia Bell-Graduate Assistant

Benicia graduated from Georgia State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Education in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Health Promotion. She is an ACSM Certified Health Fitness Specialist and an AFAA Certified Group Exercise Instructor. Outside of class and working at the WRC, Benicia partners with the Middle Georgia Area Agency on Aging to conduct health and wellness programs and presentations at local retirement homes and senior centers. She is also an advocate for Exercise is Medicine, an ACSM initiative to make physical activity and exercise a standard part of a global disease prevention and treatment medical paradigm.

 

Danny Spence-Graduate Assistant

Daniel graduated from Georgia College in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He is continuing his education with a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Physical Education and Kinesiology at Georgia College, and expects to graduate in May of 2012. Daniel is a Certified Athletic Trainer and licensed in the state of Georgia. When not in classes or studying, he works in a physical therapy clinic and participates in some outreach as an athletic trainer. In addition to athletic training, Daniel is also an ACSM certified personal trainer that enjoys teaching people about proper strength training and overall health and fitness.
