Personal Development Workshops

Healthy Relationships

Ready for more from a relationship than just what hook-up culture offers? No matter your current relationship status, it's never too soon (or too late) to learn to create healthy, long-term relationships.

Series 1: In the Beginning
Thursday, December 10, 4 p.m.

Come explore how to recognize a healthy relationship, the importance of knowing who you are, what it means to "find the right one" and "be the right one", as well as what "compatibility" means in relationships.

Series 2: The Action Begins
Thursday, December 17, 4 p.m.

Love is an action word, so this session will explore healthy ways to connect with and show commitment to your special someone. We will explore "Love Languages", ways to show commitment, how to recognize your significant other's pleas for connection, and how to make healthy decisions in a relationship.

Series 3: The Script and Setting
Thursday, January 7, 4 p.m.

How you manage communication skills and conflict/problem-solving skills will make or break your relationship. Learn to set healthy patterns early in your relationship so when problems come you will be ready to conquer them together like champs!

Series 4: Ways to Keep the Story Alive
Thursday, January 14, 4 p.m.

It takes two healthy people to build and keep alive a healthy relationship. Learn how to manage stress, use mindfulness to strengthen your relationship, and ways to make your true love feel like the most valued treasure in your life.

Series 5: Some Stories Don't End Happily Ever After
Thursday, January 21, 4 p.m.

In this session we will talk about recognizing when it's time to call it quits, including healthy and not-so-healthy ways to end relationships, and how to recognize and get out of unhealthy or abusive relationships.

Though this is a series, please feel free to come to one or all sessions. You must sign up through Counseling Services by calling 478-445-5331 prior to attending. This series will be repeated at a later date.

We invite you to be a part of Thrive, a new coaching program from the GC Women’s Center & LGBTQ+ Programs designed to help students identify and go after their goals in ways that are rooted in their values and strengths.

Here’s what you’ll get when you join Thrive:

  • regular 1-on-1 coaching with a Certified Life Coach and a CliftonStrengths Coach

Please visit this link to sign up by Friday, December 11. Thrive will start the week of January 5 (just in time for all those New Year’s resolutions!)
