Mary Roberts, Ed.D., Director
Mary has served as the director since 2007 and has over fifteen years of experience in career services and higher education field, including residence life and leadership programs. Mary has an Ed.D. in Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Georgia, an M.Ed. in Student Personnel Services from the University of South Carolina, and a B.A. in English from Presbyterian College. Mary is a past chair of the University System Committee for Career Services and serves as the advisor to the Georgia College chapter of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity. Mary is an active member of Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers (GACE) and National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE).
Jackie Hand, Assistant Director, Graduate & Professional School Planning
Jackie has been with the Career Center since 2018 and now serves in a new position dedicated to helping students planning and preparing for graduate and professional school admissions. Jackie and her team assist students with developing a four-year plan to make them competitive for graduate school as well as professional school programs such as medicine, law, dentistry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, optometry, and more. This assistance includes but is not limited to reviewing related career information, assisting with searching programs, conducting mock interviews, and advising on application materials (resumes/CVs, personal statements, essays, general testing information, etc.). In her current role, she is a liaison to chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, environmental science, and exercise science (pre-professional and sports medicine concentration).
Jackie began in the Career Center as a Career Specialist. She received her master's in Student Affairs at the University of West Georgia and her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Georgia State University. Prior to coming to GC, Jackie worked in academic advising and residence life as well as within the insurance and hospitality industries.
Kendra Evans, Interim Assistant Director, Employer Relations & Internships
Kendra Evans joined the Career Center team as an Internship Coordinator in August 2017 and currently leads the Employer Relations and Internships Team as the Interim Assistant Director. Kendra received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Georgia College in 2008 and a Master of Business Administration from Mississippi State University in 2012. Kendra gained experience in higher education when she served as the Assistant Director of the Risk Management, Insurance and Financial Planning program at Mississippi State University. She also holds private sector experience in banking, event planning and economic development. Kendra works with all employers who are interested in hiring GC graduates and students. In addition to managing our career fairs and on-campus interview programs, Kendra also works with all faculty to help connect students to more opportunities. Kendra also works with students and employers to develop and maintain internship programs in partnership with faculty. She is the primary liaison for the College of Business.
Pam Santamaria, Career Development Coordinator
Pamela Santamaria joined the Career Center in 2017 as part of the Career Development Team. She has a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from the University of North Florida, and a B.A. in Business Administration and Spanish from Flagler College. Previous to Georgia College, Pam was a graduate assistant in the Career Resource Center at Jacksonville University. She has worked in the event planning industry and has experience in multiple areas of higher education including housing, study abroad, international students, alumni relations, and annual giving. In her current role, Pam manages and leads the marketing and promotion of the Career Center and recruitment efforts for the Disney College Program. She also serves as the liaison to International Education and majors in the College of Arts & Sciences (art, rhetoric, mass communication, English, world languages, philosophy and liberal studies, music, and theatre).
Lauren Easom, Career Development Coordinator
Lauren Easom, M. Ed., GCDF currently serves as a Career Development Coordinator coming in with over 5 years of Career Development experience. She recently relocated from Colorado where she worked at the Wyoming Department of Education. There, her main responsibilities included overseeing the state’s Career Development and Guidance initiatives, Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), and Wyoming’s Career and Technical Demonstration Project Grant. She has also worked as an Upward Bound Director, and Career Development Specialist for The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and the New Mexico Works Program.
She received her B.A in Economics from Valdosta State University in December of 2011, and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Master of Education in December of 2014. While attending Valdosta State she helped charter the institution’s Phi Beta Lambda chapter and later became the organization’s first President. She was also an active member of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
Lauren is passionate about Career Development and its role in higher education because of the opportunities and experiences it provides students and is excited to start her journey with Georgia College. In her current role, Lauren serves as the liaison to majors in the College of Arts & Sciences (history, geography, criminal justice, political science, psychology, and sociology).
Lizz Giordano, Career Development Coordinator
Lizz serves as a Career Development Coordinator on the Career Development Team at Georgia College. She earned a Master of Education in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from UNC Greensboro where she served as a Graduate Assistant for Career Development. She also gained experience in first-year experience, student activities, fraternity and sorority life, and leadership programs throughout her time in graduate school. Prior to attending graduate school, Lizz worked as a Scribe, Internship Preceptor, and Quality Metrics Analyst at a Pediatric Doctor’s Office after earning a Bachelor of Science in Health Science (Public Health) degree from the University of North Florida. In her current role, Lizz is the liaison to the College of Health Sciences.
Sean Espinosa, Internship Coordinator
Sean serves as an Internship Coordinator in the Career Center, helping students prepare for the internship application process while also working with the Employer Relations and Internships team to connect students to opportunities with employers. Sean currently oversees the academic internship paperwork process for programs in the College of Arts & Sciences and Public Health and also serves as the liaison to the College of Education. An alumnus of the College of Business at Georgia College, Sean also has a master's degree in college student affairs from the University of Georgia and previously worked in Residence Life at the College of Charleston.
Daniella Thomas, Internship Coordinator
Daniella is a recent graduate of the Liberal Studies program at Georgia College. Previously, Daniella served for two years as a Career Peer Advisor and Employer Relations Assistant in the Career Center. This fall she joined the Career Center team in a full-time capacity to assist the Employer Relations and Internship team.
Rachel Linder, Administrative Assistant
Rachel has worked at Georgia College since graduating with her degree in Public Health. Prior to serving in the Career Center, Rachel was the Transfer Admissions Specialist in the Office of Admissions. In the Career Center, Rachel works with all of our visitors and campus partners, which include students, alumni, employers, faculty, and staff, to ensure that they have a great experience with the Career Center. Currently, Rachel is a student in the M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration program at Georgia Southern University.
