    • Former faculty who have made notable contributions to the College of Health Sciences, their profession, and community. Examples are:

      • Positive impact on student lives
      • Involvement outside of the classroom
      • Involvement in the community

  • Staff
    • Former staff who have had a notable history of service to the College of Health Sciences and has helped further the mission of the College through their achievements, contributions, and leadership.

    • Individuals who have distinguished themselves in advancing the mission of the College of Health Sciences by donating their time and/or financial resources.

Sarah McCook

Hall of Fame Inductee - 2023
Biography

Dr. Sarah McCook is a double Bobcat (BA, MA) and graduate of the University of Durham (PhD in History) and is currently a teacher at the Gwinnett School of Science, Mathematics, and Technology. She provided administrative support for the School of Health & Human Performance from 2017 to 2022, when she left to pursue her passion for teaching.

Among her proudest achievements are bringing SHHP into the world of social media, expanding and reorganizing the advising of the MS Health Promotion concentration, the support and design of the admissions process for the MS in Athletic Training, and the daily teaching and learning support of faculty. A unique achievement in her capacity was redesigning the department's teaching schedule to facilitate labs, seminars, and classes that met the unique requirements of COVID-19 protocols and capacities.

Carol Sapp, PhD

Hall of Fame Inductee - 2021
Biography

Dr. Carol Sapp is an alumnus of Georgia State University (PhD in Family & Community Nursing), Georgia College (MSN in Family Nursing & Nursing Education, & RN-BSN), and Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing (Diploma in Nursing). Most recently, she completed the Foundations in Faith Community Nursing course at Gwinnett Medical Center & Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University. Dr. Sapp has provided leadership for the internationalization of the GCSU undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. She developed and led interdisciplinary COHS Cross Cultural study abroad courses to Belize and initiated the study abroad partnership with the Swedish study abroad nursing student exchange program. Dr. Sapp is an active member of the STTI Honor Society of Nursing, ANA & GNA, GANE, and the Baptist Nursing Fellowship. Dr. Sapp’s research interests include Health Promotion, Quality of Life, Asthma, End of Life, and Family. Dr. Sapp has provided significant service to Georgia College by serving on many committees at the university level over the years.  She is a strong supporter of the International Programs. Dr. Sapp has also been active in the community providing leadership at the local and state level for Georgia's nurse educators. Having been the recipient of numerous scholarships, Dr. Sapp wanted to pay it forward by recently establishing an endowed scholarship for future undergraduate nursing students in the Honors Program.

Sheila Malcolm, MA, RN

Hall of Fame Inductee - 2021
Biography

Sheila Malcolm, MA, RN is the nurse manager at Atrium Health Navicent Hospice Pine Pointe. She has acted as preceptor to many nursing students in the past and devotes her time and energy to come to Georgia College every semester to teach and help nursing students understand end of life care. Ms. Malcolm is passionate and imparts her wisdom regarding palliative care.  Her instruction helps advance the mission of the School of Nursing and College of Health Sciences by contributing to the professional development of the students, and helping insure they deliver evidence based care to the clients.
