Academic Advising

The Academic Advising Center is open!  Professional Academic Advisors are available Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm by e-mail or phone. Advisors provide assistance and support to our students via scheduled remote advising sessions. Advisors will be happy to address your questions and concerns about registration, waiting lists, major exploration, and so forth.  You may “Schedule an Appointment” with an Academic Advisor via that link in Unify. The center is offering “drop-in” hours as well in the AAC’s WebEx Chat Room at gcsu.webex.com/meet/gcsu.advising. Drop-in hours are offered twice a week during days and times published on our website, gcsu.edu/advising.  We look forward to assisting you with all of your academic advising needs by the method that suits you.

    • Tours start at the top of each hour with the last tour leaving at 4:00pm.

    • Due to the size of certain rooms, and the desire to maintain social distancing, some rooms will be off limits or simply walked through. As a result, all adults will be offered the senior rate of admission to accommodate for this change.

Athletics

Georgia College Athletics continues to engage with our student-athletes  Although we have no games or practices, our coaches and student-athletes communicate in a variety of ways on a regular basis.  Our website and our social media sites provide content showcasing out student-athletes.

Business Office

The Business Office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Career Center

The Career Center is open Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm. Until further notice, all appointments will be online. The front office will remain open and there will be someone there to answer questions. We are following the recommendations of the CDC and asking that all persons who enter the office remain six feet away from the front desk and wear masks.

Center for Teaching and Learning

The Center for Teaching and Learning is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Visitors can check in with us via e-mail: ctl@gcsu.edu or by phone: (478) 445-2520.  If you would like to stop by, please contact us so we can make arrangements, as we are located on the third floor of the Ina Dillard Russell Library building. While the first and second floors of the Russell Library building are open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, the third floor will remain closed to the public until August 11.  If you would like to visit us virtually, please contact us to arrange a time to do so.

Counseling Services

Counseling Services is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to provide free and confidential mental health and psychiatric services to students. Cultural Center

Summer 2020

The Cultural Center is not offering in-person visits or video chats during the Summer. If you would like to contact the Cultural Center, you can do so by calling (478)-445-5169. 

Fall 2020

The Cultural Center will be operating at a reduced physical capacity this fall as the number of people allowed in Blackbridge Hall at a time will be limited to allow for social distancing. We will be offering our full range of programs and services utilizing a combination of virtual programming and programming with social distancing. We will be available Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m via phone (478-445-8155) and video chat by appointment. A staff member will be working the front desk during business hours to assist in scheduling appointments.

Financial Aid

As part of Georgia College’s response to the coronavirus, we are practicing many changes to promote the health and safety of our staff, students and guests. Below is important information regarding how the Financial Aid Office is available to assist our students and families.  

  • We encourage you to continue to reach us by phone at 478-445-5149. 
  • Staff members will regularly continue to check the financialaid@gcsu.edu email account throughout each day and we will respond to your requests as soon as possible. Please be sure to include your GCID number and full name so we can identify your records easily. 
  • Staff members will also continue checking their individual email accounts throughout the day and they will respond to your requests as soon as possible 
  • We encourage students to make an appointment should an office visit be needed.  Appointments can be made via phone at 478-445-5149, via email to financialaid@gcsu.edu or by emailing your Financial Aid Advisor directly
  • Students and guests who visit our office will need to know the following:
    1. Social distancing is being implemented and there will be a maximum of 2 students serviced in the office at a time. We ask that a maximum of 2 guests accompany each student who visits the Financial Aid Office. Guests will be asked to remain in the hallway or on the front porch of Parks Hall until the student can be relocated to our service area. 
    2. Students and guests will be required to wear a face mask and masks will be provided (if needed).
    3. ​Temperature checks will be provided upon request.

Give Center

During the Fall semester, The GIVE Center will be open Monday - Thursday 10:00am- 5:00pm. Students can become Certified To Serve in person during this time or online. Small group meetings and trainings can happen during those hours. However most meetings, trainings and events will be held virtually or outside (taking the necessary social distancing measures). Important information will be listed on our Facebook page and in GC Connect under the iVolunteer portal.

Learning Center

The Learning Center provides academic support services to STEM and Economics classes and will be offering blended services (online and in person) for the fall semester so as to remain in compliance of social distancing requirements.

Parent and Family Programs

The Office of Parent and Family Programs continues to engage families of GC students through social media and e-mail newsletters. Families will receive information on supporting the transition to e-learning, developing routines, identifying anxiety and depression, fighting boredom, and promoting total wellness for students through this crisis. Registrar's Office

The Registrar’s Office is open Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00 PM.  We are also available via phone at 478-445-6286, fax at 478-445-1914, and email at registrar@gcsu.edu.  Students are encouraged to complete tasks online.

For students visiting the office, face masks are required and no more than two students will be permitted in the front office at a time.  Students will be asked to physically distance in the Parks hallway or front porch if space is not available in the office.  Students are encouraged to contact us in advance if an appointment is needed.

SERVE Help Desk

The Serve Help Desk is our campus contact for technology questions, requests or issues. We are open Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

We are available for phone and email assistance on Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m.-6 p.m. 

In order to work within health guidelines, our Serve desk is no longer able to provide on-demand walk-in services.

Student Disability Resource Center

The Student Disability Resource Center will continue to assist students with accommodations for courses. Student Health Services

Student Health Services is open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.  We are continuing telehealth visits and will assess at that time if an in-person visit is needed.   There are no walk-in appointments available and all students must call 478-445-5288 to set up an appointment. Visit our website for more information.

Testing Center

The Center for Testing Office hours are 8-5 Monday through Friday.  There is a staff member who will be in the office to assist with any questions and masks will be provided for visitors who don't have one. We are doing very limited in-person testing, starting July 16, and that information is on our website.
