Dr. James Callaghan
Senior International Officer
Assistant Vice-President for International Education
Director of the International Education Center

An accomplished and innovative international administrator and educator with over three decades of global leadership experience, including seven years of university teaching in Rome, Italy, Dr. Callaghan has institution-wide responsibility for the leadership, management, coordination and development of international programs at Georgia College.  He has created study abroad programs and opportunities - plus international partnerships and dual-degree programs - all over the world along with teaching, research and professional development opportunities for both American and international faculty.  Dr. Callaghan is an early pioneer of programming - including internet-based programming - that not only connects students to their academic majors and interests, but also provides important international pre-professional experience and exposure to, and practice in, skills valued in the global economy - plus opportunities for impactful service to the global community as engaged global citizens.  Dr. Callaghan's vision for the university - and the community and region - positions Georgia College as genuinely engaged with the world, and the world engaged with it.  Proficient in several languages, Dr. Callaghan is the holder of a doctorate in the history of art from Temple University, and M.A. and B.A. degrees in that discipline (plus work in philosophy) from Michigan State University.  His specialties are Italian Renaissance painting and the art of Imperial Rome, with a particular interest in fresco technique and the creation and comprehension of complex fresco cycles.  Dr. Callaghan's current research is in the semiotics of art, and the origins and development of 13th-century Italian painting.

Liz Havey
Assistant Director of Education Abroad

Liz Havey, Assistant Director of Education Abroad, manages the programmatic aspects of Georgia College study abroad and other overseas learning experiences. She moved to Milledgeville from Las Vegas, where she completed her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing from DePauw University in Indiana.

Liz studied abroad twice in her undergraduate career and lived in Norway for one year before beginning her bachelor's degree. She has also traveled extensively in Europe, the United States and Mexico. She enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping, knitting, sewing, cooking and playing the piano. She is an advocate for environmental conservation and goodwill in general.

Jason Wynn
Assistant Director of International Student & Scholar Services

Jason Wynn, Assistant Director of International Student and Scholar Services, manages admissions for international students at Georgia College and facilitates their immigration and cultural acclimation needs. He is also an instructor of American culture at the College. Jason moved from North Carolina where he completed an M.A. in International Studies at East Carolina University. Additionally, he holds a B.S. in Psychology with a second major in Spanish.

During his undergraduate years, Jason studied abroad at the La Universidad de Vigo in Vigo, Spain and La Universidad de las Americas in Puebla, Mexico. Before completing his graduate work he served as an intern for Habitat for Humanity Costa Rica and instructed English as a Second Language in North Carolina. More than anything, Jason loves to travel!

Jarris Lanham
Study Abroad Adviser

Jarris Lanham, Study Abroad Adviser, helps students and faculty find educational experiences abroad to enhance their academic and professional careers. Jarris holds a B.A. in English and an M.S. in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English as a Second Language.  While a student, she studied abroad in Germany and taught English for a semester in Belarus.  After graduate school, Jarris lived in Japan for four years where she taught English with the JET Program (and in the Japanese middle school system).  Jarris is also the main advisor of the International Student Club, an organization that consists of both international and domestic students interested in cross-cultural experiences.   Outside of work she enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking, and learning about cultures and religions.

Susie Ramage
International Admissions Counselor

Susie Ramage, the International Admissions Counselor, assists with international student recruitment, international admissions for both undergraduate and graduate programs, and is also involved with international programming. She is co-advisor of the International Student Club, an organization that consists of both international and domestic students interested in cross-cultural experiences. Susie is an alumna of Georgia College and holds a B.S. in Community Health. She spent a good portion of her life living and working in the nearby city of Warner Robins and later moved to Milledgeville. She devoted most of her life working at Oconee Regional Medical Center.   In her free time, Susie enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Sandy Moore
Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant, Sandy Moore, assists with general inquires for international student admissions and study abroad programs, data entry and general office operations. Sandy is the newest member of the International Education Center, joining the team in July, 2016 after leaving the banking industry. She enjoys learning about the world through the international students and returned study abroad students. She prefers to spend her free time outdoors hiking and camping with her friends and family.
