Upcoming Sponsored EVENTS for 2022 - 2023

GC Undergraduate Student Research Circle (Open to All Majors)

This Circle meets monthly during the fall and spring academic semesters. The meetings are held once a month.

First Meeting of Fall Semester 2022 will take place on Wednesday, September 28th from 6-7pm in the Library Atrium.  Pizza will be provided.

Undergraduate students from all disciplines--including the arts--are invited to participate in this group.  This is an informal, student-led group to discuss all aspects of undergraduate research including finding a mentor, finding funding, going to conferences, and how to navigate applications.

The group is also looking for student leaders to help facilitate discussions and develop agendas.  For more information or to apply for leadership, please contact Faculty Director of MURACE, Dr. Stefanie Sevcik at urace@gcsu.edu

Hope to see you there!

GURC Conference

Conference date - November 11 and 12, 2022
Conference Location - Valdosta State University
Registration Provided by Valdosta State University

Georgia College is part of a statewide consortium of institutions that support undergraduate research and creative endeavors across all disciplines: the Georgia Undergraduate Research Consortium.  We want to make sure we have a strong showing of our excellent undergraduate research and creative projects.  So, MURACE will cover registration fees for all GCSU students who attend the conference.  Attendees will also be automatically accepted into GCSU Research Day on March 29th, 2023.

Please encourage your undergraduates to submit their research or creative work to the Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference (GURC).  All disciplines and creative work welcome!

* The abstract submission date has been extended to September 23rd

* GURC is now offering a Webinar Option:

Because gas prices continue to stay high and we have so many online students wishing to participate, organizers have added a webinar to the conference.  The webinar option will be Nov. 11 and will have a $20.00 registration fee, which will include door prizes student/faculty interaction, and speaker.

* GURC will still offer a traditional, face-to-face option: Students who select the face-to-face option will have access to graduate school booths from all over Georgia, speaker, door prizes, and all conference events.  Registration will be $50.00, which includes Friday night reception, Saturday breakfast and lunch.

* Both Webinar and Face-to-Face students will be eligible for Best in Category Awards. Completed projects are due to VSU website by October 10th.

Oral, Poster, Performance, Visual, and Full Panel Presentation options available.

All disciplines invited!
