Single-Stream Recycling

The Simple Way to Recycle on Campus

How Does Single-Stream Recycling Work at Georgia College?

Georgia College implemented a single-stream recycling program in 2013 and has since diverted tens of thousands of recyclable waste from going to the landfill. Single-stream simply means that recyclable materials can be commingled together instead of being separated by material type. Acceptable single-stream materials at GC include paper, paperboard, cardboard, aluminum, tin and steel cans, and rigid plastic containers of grades #1 and #2.
