Students must show competence in a foreign language at the level of the second university course (1002). (3-6 semester hours)

Other Requirements

A minimum of 39 semester hours overall must be at the 3000-4000 level.

Complete First-Year Academic Seminar with a satisfactory grade. Students who transfer to GCSU are exempt from this requirement.
The student must pass the PRAXIS I test.
The student must pass the GACE Teacher certification exam.
MUSC 1200 Intro to Music Literature will be taken in Core Area B in place of MUSC 1105.
MUSC 1990 Recital Attendance is to be taken every semester of enrollment except the semester of student teaching (maximum of 7).

Electives

Students are strongly recommended to take technology courses, Elementary Methods, and additional keyboard study.
