MASTER OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

MISSION—MMIS

The Master of Management Information Systems (M.M.I.S.) degree is designed to prepare graduates for positions and responsibilities in designing, implementing, and managing corporate information resources. The academic program consists of 30-39 hours of work. The curriculum for the M.M.I.S. degree is based on recommendations from the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) and AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

CAREER INFORMATION—M.M.I.S.

A survey of business executives in Middle Georgia showed a very positive response to the Master of Management Information Systems degree offered by J. Whitney Bunting School of Business at Georgia College & State University. The degree was introduced at Georgia College & State University in response to an analysis of corporate needs. From all available data, the job market for those who hold a Master of Management Information Systems degree appears to be healthy and growing. Those completing the M.M.I.S. often become information systems managers, systems analysts, computer specialists, computer user liaison personnel, or educators in two-year community or technical colleges, depending on their experience and interests.

*The entering student with an appropriate academic background may be able to complete the Master of Management Information Systems degree with a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate work. All programs of study are based on individual student needs as stipulated by the graduate director.
