Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Choral and instrumental ensembles are open to enrollment by graduate students studying in any field. Potential ensembles include but are not limited to: University Chorus, Concert Band, Max Noah Singers, Women's Ensemble, Jazz Band, Improvisation, Brass Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, Music Theatre Scenes. Some ensembles require audition or permission of the instructor. This course is repeatable for credit.

MUEN 5010. GRADUATE WIND SYMPHONY. (0-3-0 or 1)

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Study and performance of standard and contemporary band (instrumental) literature. No audition required. Open to all members of the University community. This course is repeatable for credit.

MUEN 5020. GRADUATE MAX NOAH SINGERS. (0-3-0 or 1)

Prerequisites: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. A choral organization made up of select singers. Emphasis on the study and performance of a variety of literature from madrigals and motets to the avant garde. Open by audition to all members of the University community. This course is repeatable for credit.

MUEN 5030. GRADUATE WOMEN'S ENSEMBLE. (0-3-0 or 1)

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. A non-auditioned choral organization focusing on the study and performance of a variety of choral literature specifically for women's voices. Open to any female members of the University community. This course is repeatable for credit.

MUEN 5040. GRADUATE JAZZ BAND. (0-3-0 or 1)

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Study and performance in a variety of jazz styles ranging from small combos to big band. This course is repeatable for credit. Co-requisite: MUEN 5010.

MUEN 5050. GRADUATE BRASS ENSEMBLE. (0-2-0 or 1)

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Study and performance of music composed and arranged for a brass ensemble (trumpet, trombone, French horn, euphonium and tuba). This course is repeatable for credit.

MUEN 5070. GRADUATE SMALL ENSEMBLE. (0-2-0 or 1)

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. Study and performance of classical repertory for small instrumental groups, including, string ensemble, brass ensemble, woodwind ensemble, percussion ensemble and other combinations. Open by audition to all members of the University community. This course is repeatable for credit.

MUEN 5075. GRADUATE ORCHESTRA. (0-3-0 or 1)

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. The Graduate Orchestra is a string ensemble comprised of students (both major and non-majors), faculty, and community members. The purpose of the ensemble is to improve skill and cover various repertoire fostering students’ music development.

MUEN 5090. GRADUATE MUSIC THEATRE SCENES. (0-3-0 or 1)

Prerequisite: Instructor permission required for 0 credit. The study and performance of scenes taken from various music-theatrical genres, including musical theater, opera, operetta and contemporary interdisciplinary forms.
