COURSE LOAD

A minimum of 30 semester hours per year is needed to graduate within four years. The year includes Fall, Spring, and Summer terms including the Maymester. A normal course load is 15 semester hours each semester.

An undergraduate student may enroll in a maximum of 18 semester credit hours per semester.

The summer semester is divided into three shorter parts of term: Maymester, Summer I, and Summer II. A student may take a maximum of 18 semester credit hours during the entire summer semester; however, because of the intensive nature of summer courses, additional restrictions apply to each part of term. Students may take a maximum of 3 semester hours, or one course, or one lecture/lab combination during the Maymester. During the Summer I and Summer II parts of term, the normal load is 6 credit hours per term. Any hours in excess of these limits must also have the approval of the student's faculty advisor and department chairperson.
