POLS 4650. CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY. (3-0-3)

A study of the development of American foreign policy during the 20th century, emphasizing America's emergence as a world power and her role of alliance leadership in the nuclear age. (Cross-listed as HIST 4650.)

POLS 4710. INTERNATIONAL LAW. (3-0-3)

A study in international law that will provide the student with an understanding of the nature, scope, and sources of international law, as well as specific areas of international law including territorial questions, laws of the sea and space, and violent conflict.

POLS 4715. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS THEORY. (3-0-3)

A study of international relations theory beginning with the importance of theory and levels of analysis, then moving on to a focus on the dominant theoretical approaches in the field. Special attention is paid to realism, liberalism, constructivism as well as postpositivist approaches of postmodernism and critical theory.
