Did you know that alumni from Georgia College & State University can receive career services assistance for life?  You can attend career fairs to meet potential employers or graduate schools.  Alumni may also contact the Career Center for assistance with resumes, interviewing, and job search strategies.

Hire GCSU Students
If you are an alumni who is interested in connecting with GCSU students about career opportunities, contact our Employer Relations Team.  You can also register in Handshake as an employer or add Georgia College to your existing Handshake account.

Register with Handshake as a Job Seeker
Georgia College is now a Handshake school.  If you previously used Career Connection, this means you will need to set up a new account in Handshake to view jobs postings from thousands of local, regional and national employers.  To register, go to Handshake and Choose "Sign up for an Account."  All alumni who use our services are required to register.

Join the Georgia College Alumni LinkedIn Group
Are you interested in networking with other GCSU alumni?  We have over 800 alumni in the group that can now be a part of your network.  To get started, you will need a profile at www.linkedin.com.  Then request to join the Georgia College Alumni Group. Please make sure Georgia College is listed in your profile so that we know to approve you as a GCSU alumnus.  To learn more about using LinkedIn for your job search, use the LinkedIn Profile Checklist.

Schedule an Appointment with a Career Advisor
If you need a career advisor to review your resume, provide job and internship search assistance, or advise you on career options, we recommend scheduling an appointment.  Before major events such as career fairs, students are encouraged to schedule a resume critique session.  Appointments can be made Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and can be done virtually.  Contact our office at 478-445-5384 or schedule online through Handshake.

Career Fairs
The Career Center is involved in over 15 career fairs each year.  Alumni may also attend the Statewide Career Fair, held each April in Atlanta in partnership with over 40 other colleges and universities in Georgia.  Alumni are always invited to any GCSU affiliated career fair.  If you would like feedback on your resume prior to the event, please email one of our career advisors. You can never get too much feedback on this very important document!  Visit our Career Fair page as well as our Handshake site for more information.

Campus Interviews
Alumni can now sign-up for campus interviews via Handshake.

Attend a Career Development Workshop
Register with Handshake to view our calendar of events which includes workshops, career fairs, interviews, and employer information sessions.

On-line Resources
In addition to Handshake, we also have a virtual mock interview platform: Big Interview.  Alumni who would like to complete a career assessment can access Focus 2 if they have a "bobcats" email address. In addition, we will be updating our Resource Library in Handshake throughout the summer and fall to provide you with all of our printed career information packets, sample resumes, and additional employer information.

Printed Resources
The Georgia College Library and Instructional Technology Center now has a bookshelf dedicated to career development.  Students, alumni, and community members have access to over 100 of the best career development publications.
