She received her B.B.A. in Economics from Valdosta State University in December of 2011, and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Master of Education in December of 2014. While attending Valdosta State she helped charter the institution’s Phi Beta Lambda chapter and later became the organization’s first President. She was also an active member of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
Biography
Lauren Easom, M. Ed., GCDF currently serves as the Career Center's Director. She comes in with over 5 years of Career Development experience. She recently relocated from Colorado where she worked at the Wyoming Department of Education. There, her main responsibilities included overseeing the state’s Career Development and Guidance initiatives, Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), and Wyoming’s Career and Technical Demonstration Project Grant. She has also worked as an Upward Bound Director, and Career Development Specialist for The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and the New Mexico Works Program.
Lauren is passionate about Career Development and its role in higher education because of the opportunities and experiences it provides students and is excited to start her journey with Georgia College.

Jackie Stamper
Assistant Director, Pre-Professional & Graduate School Planning
Education
Jackie received her master's in Student Affairs at the University of West Georgia and her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Georgia State University. Prior to coming to GC, Jackie worked in academic advising and residence life as well as within the insurance and hospitality industries.
Biography
Jackie joined the Career Center team as a specialist in 2018 and now serves in a position dedicated to helping students who are planning and preparing for graduate and professional school admissions, in addition to other career development needs. Jackie and her team assist students with developing a four-year plan to make them competitive for graduate schools as well as professional school programs such as medicine, law, dentistry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, optometry, and more. This assistance includes but is not limited to reviewing related career information, assisting with searching programs, conducting mock interviews, and advising on application materials (resumes/CVs, personal statements, essays, general testing information, etc.).
Brittany received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Georgia Southern University in 2013 and completed her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration in 2016. She was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. Golden Key is the world’s largest collegiate honor society. Membership into the Society is by invitation only and applies to the top 15% of college and university sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as top-performing graduate students in all fields of study, based solely on their academic achievements.

Brittany has worked in higher education since 2014 including enrollment management, advancement, and career services departments. She has experience in recruiting and admissions, donor and alumni relations, event / campaign planning and career development. She has a passion for serving students, maximizing their opportunities, and helping them navigate their choices post graduation.

Biography
Christine earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Northeastern Illinois University and completed her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing – Poetry from Georgia College. Christine joined the Career Center team in 2021. Prior to that, she worked in academic advising and the Bridge Scholars Program at GC.

J'Lan Day

J’Lan received his B.A. in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Social Work from Fort Valley State University in 2020 and completed his M.Ed in Higher Education Leadership from Mercer University in 2021. During his undergraduate years, he was dedicated to student leadership, serving in numerous roles throughout campus such as SGA Secretary, Vice President of the Collegiate 100, and SGA President. Through his role as SGA President, he served on the Student Advisory Board through the University System of Georgia (USG), the Legal Affairs Director for the Historically Black College/ University (HBCU) Consortium of SGA Presidents, and as a student representative for the Educational Policy committee for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

J’Lan serves as a Career Development Coordinator in the Career Center, bringing expertise in various areas of student life. He has experience in Fraternity and Sorority Life, Residence Life, TRIO Programs, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). During his short time in Higher Education as the Graduate Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Programs at Mercer University, he has advised 22 student organizations and hosted countless workshops on personal and professional growth.
J’Lan is passionate about student development and is excited to begin his career with Georgia College to help students gain transformational experiences throughout their college journey.

Chelsey Scoggins
Internship Coordinator II
Education
Chelsey received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Sociology from the University of Georgia in 2013 and completed her Master of Public Administration at Georgia College & State University in 2019.
Biography
Chelsey serves as an Internship Coordinator II on the Career Center's Employer Relations and Internships team. In this role, she provides career advising to students and helps employers learn more about how they can recruit at Georgia College & State University. Prior to her work in the Career Center, Chelsey served as a Work Based Learning Specialist for Georgia's first statewide WBL program. In this position, Chelsey worked directly with 11th and 12th grade students to connect them with job opportunities and provide guidance on job search skills, career exploration, and employability skills development. She also travelled throughout the middle Georgia area to network with potential business partners and create placement opportunities for students.

Biography
Daniella received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with concentrations in Mass Communication, English, and Psychology from Georgia College in 2019. Previously, Daniella served for two years as a Career Peer Advisor and Employer Relations Assistant in the Career Center. Currently, she serves on the Career Center’s Employer Relations and Internship team and leads the Career Center’s marketing and social media promotion.

Rachel has worked at Georgia College since graduating with her degree in Public Health. Prior to serving in the Career Center, Rachel was the Transfer Admissions Specialist in the Office of Admissions. In the Career Center, Rachel works as an Internship Coordinator where she assists students in achieving their career dreams. Currently, Rachel is a student in the M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration program at Georgia Southern University.
