Spend a Semester at the Georgia State Capitol!
The Georgia Legislative Intern Program (GLIP) is a full-time paid internship that lets students gain hands on experience during the legislative session with government leaders. The session takes place from January to April each year. Students can locate information about the statewide program on the General Assembly's website. Dates and Deadlines for the 2027 Session:
• October 5th: Submit your application to the GCSU Coordinator for the GLIP (legislativeinternshipprograms@gcsu.edu and career.center@gcsu.edu)
• October 14th: Coordinators to submit all applications to the General Assembly
• October 19 - 23: Candidate interviews in person at the Capitol
• January 7 - 8: Orientation at the Capitol
• Monday, January 11, 2027: First Day of the Legislative session
Academic Credit:
GLIP interns are required to earn academic credit during the Spring 2027 semester for the internship. Interns are required to be at the Capitol during regular working hours for the duration of the legislative session and will be unable to enroll in additional classes that meet during those hours.
