Computing Requirements

At Georgia College & State University, we suggest acquiring a computer setup capable of supporting the demands of a graduate computing student. While we prefer Windows, the Mac OS is also suitable, as we are transitioning towards more cloud-based applications. Students should seriously consider getting a second monitor for completing schoolwork. Due to the nature of the courses being virtual, it is also recommended to have a high-quality video cam and microphone.

If you encounter any technical difficulties, don't hesitate to contact the IT Helpdesk at askit@gcsu.edu or by calling 478-445-7378. They usually have student workers available during most hours to assist you.

Additionally, we highly recommend using a reliable backup system, such as Dropbox or OneDrive, to ensure your academic files are securely stored and easily accessible.
