Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program utilizing peer-led study sessions multiple times each week to assist students with traditionally difficult academic courses.
The Learning Center (LC) offers free drop-in tutoring and academic assistance to GC students. The LC is a friendly and stress free environment to study and complete work.
Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) take place before major tests in courses that do not have SI support. These sessions are led by students who tutor in the Learning Center.
Undergraduate Learning Assistants (ULAs) are tutors who work in our Math Lab Emporium to support students enrolled in College Algebra and Math Modeling.
What certifications and qualifications does the Learning Center's services have?
The Learning Center's Tutors, PASS Tutors, and ULAs are trained according to the College Reading and Learning Association's (CRLA) International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) standards. Additionally, each tutor has a proven history of academic success in the discipline in which they tutor.
