General

Who runs the Montessori Academy at the Early Learning Center? 
The Montessori Academy is a partnership between Georgia College & State University and the Baldwin County Board of Education. The Montessori Academy provides a quality learning facility for the Board of Education and Georgia College families, while also creating a learning lab for students at Georgia College.  

Where is the Montessori Academy located?
The Montessori Academy is housed in the Early Learning Center at the Board of Education.  The physical address is 100 North ABC Street, Milledgeville, GA 31061

 

Tuition

What is the application fee?
A $25 application/space reservation fee is required at the time of application. The fee is non-refundable and does not apply to the tuition balance. Once you have completed this application you may email montessorielc@gcsu.edu to schedule a tour of the facility. (This application does not ensure a space within our program, but it does place your child's name upon the list for entry. You will be notified when your child is accepted and be asked to complete the enrollment package upon acceptance.) 

What are the weekly tuition rates? 
Regular rates
$150/student for regular day 7:30-3:30
$180/student for extended day 7:30-5:30
 
GC/BOE faculty and staff:
$145/student for regular day 7:30-3:30
$175/student for extended day 7:30-5:30

Sibling Discount: 15 % for second child
Annual Activity Fee: $50 per child 
 

What is Extended Day Care?
Extended Day Care will be provided between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., during the academic year (August – May). Families must select Extended Day Care as their rate in August or January.  Extended Day drop-ins are only available in emergency situations and is $20 a day. 

Are there any tuition discounts available?
For families with more than one child enrolled, a 15% discount is applied to the second child's  tuition only. Currently, GCSU and BOE faculty and staff receive a $5 discount for the after school program.

Are meals included in tuition?
Yes. Breakfast, lunch and a snack are included in the regular tuition while the Baldwin County Nutrition Department is open. On Board of Education (BOE) breaks, students will bring their own lunch, while breakfast and snacks will be provided by Montessori. 

What is the tuition payment schedule?
Payments may be made via online payments with a credit/debit card. No checks, cash, or money orders accepted. 

Registration

Who is eligible for admission to the Montessori Academy?
For enrollment, priority is given to the families of the Board of Education and Georgia College employees. The remaining spaces will be made available to the general public. 

What ages are included?
Children from six weeks – five years are eligible for admission. 

Can I register for the Montessori Academy while I am pregnant?
Yes. Parents may register a child as soon as they know a tentative birth-date. Enrollment for each academic year begins in July. Parents may pay for a slot at the start of an academic year, even if their child will not physically be in the classroom. Parents may elect not to pay for an open slot, and at that time, the child’s name will be placed on a waiting list. Parents will be called when a slot is open.

Where do I register my child for the GA Pre-K Montessori Classroom?
Registration is through the Early Learning Center. For more information please call 478-457-2461.

Is early-morning care available?
No early morning care is not available. The Academy opens at 7:30 a.m. and instructional time begins at 8 a.m.

How late is the Montessori Academy open?
The Montessori Academy at the Early Learning Center is open Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Afterschool care is available from  3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Is the Montessori Academy open year-round?
Yes. The Montessori Academy is open year-round, Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Academic classes are held August – May. Instructional time will be 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Parents can drop their children off between 7:30 and 8 a.m. and pick them up between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Parents who need care from 3:30- 5:30 p.m. can utilize after school care.

What is Summer Programming?
The Montessori Academy will be open year-round with summer programming taking place (June – July).

Can my child(ren) attend the Montessori Academy part-time?
No, the Montessori Academy is a teaching and learning facility where children must be present during the academic year (August – May). The Montessori Academy follows a different schedule from the Baldwin County School District. Please contact us if you have any questions.
